Natalie, or simply Nat.
I am a 22 year old young adult, not far past undergraduate life. I studied Sustainable Development, hoping to maybe one day make some kind of difference in the world. I am a girl who grew up loving the city who has found solace in the mountains of North Carolina. I love dogs and cats and sloths and really all animals. Reese's are my go-to sweet but give me any chocolate and you'll make me smile. I own way too many oversized sweaters from Goodwill. I am very extroverted, but I am slowly learning the beauty of spending time by myself and not be entirely drained. I surround myself constantly with things that keep me happy, like paintings and pictures of the people I love and good smelling candles and positive notes, but especially a good smelling candle. I believe it is such a waste of energy to feel otherwise. I hate anger, and sadness, and I'm constantly pulling myself back to homeostasis.
In my junior year of undergrad I took a class titled, "Outreach Skills for Sustainability." We read a book titled, "Undoing the Silence: Six Tools for Social Change Writing," by Louise Dunlap. This book inspired me to use my voice to share my thoughts and experiences to maybe, possibly, enact change. I am in no way perfectly educated on the things I may write about, but I want to be able to use this as a medium to wrestle with some of those issues. So here I am, imperfection and all, attempting to give it simply.
